Mohamed Ali Ziada

Born in 1986, in Alexandria, Egypt, where he lives and works.

Two pieces of African black granite resembling ancient Egyptian monoliths and each piece completes the other therefore they cannot be separated from each other since the carvings integrate and communicate in between, creating a space in the middle of the artwork as it begins to widen and then narrows. Then it starts ascending into the sky as it grows wider. The artwork is empowered by the shape of monoliths created by pharaohs and
expresses a lot of their mysteries, as the pieces bear carvings that give a different touch and color.

This work has been selected as part of the special project: “The Landing: Artwork Dedicated to Humanity Migrants”
